Dressage is our passion

This is exactly what we would like to share with other people who are as connected to horses as we are!

Our young team is always happy to welcome more like-minded people who enjoy learning on a family-run farm. Keeping horses in a manner appropriate to their species and training them according to classical principles are particularly important to us. Responsible handling, as well as conscientious care and work with our sport partners is a prerequisite for this!

Apprenticeships and internships at the Vechtehof

We constantly offer places for trainees who would like to gain an insight into the everyday working life of a groom. Depending on the qualification, the Vechtehof offers numerous training and further education opportunities for young professionals.

The Vechtehof is also known for well-founded apprenticeships as a Pferdewirt specialising in classical riding training or horse keeping and service. In addition, we offer optimal conditions for the preparation of examinations for future master craftsmen in horse management.

Which school subjects are important for an assistant instructor?

Basically, at Vechtehof, school grades are not decisive for starting the training as a horse manager. Of course, it is an advantage if, for example, you have knowledge of mathematics for future feed calculations. It is much more important to us that the horses are handled and worked with reliably and conscientiously.

What school-leaving qualification do I need to train as an assistant instructor?

Legally, there is no minimum school-leaving qualification. Some companies mainly hire trainees with a university entrance qualification or intermediate school leaving certificate. The Vechtehof prefers to get a personal impression of applicants and is happy for them to complete a work placement. This way, both the training company and the applicant know whether they would like to work together in the future.

The 2nd and 3rd apprenticeship year have their vocational school lessons in Vechta or, by arrangement, in Münster.

How do I become a riding instructor?

The basic prerequisite is that the training as an assistant instructor has been successfully passed and 2 years of professional experience have been gained. Under special conditions, proven 4 years of professional experience can also replace the training as an assistant instructor, so that participation in the riding instructor. examination is permitted. The riding instructor examination is different depending on the specialisation, but can basically be divided into 3 parts.
