And so I started looking for a suitable farm. Through student rider contacts I finally landed on the Vechtehof, with the Egbers family.<\/p>\n
After a short “trial stay” it was clear to me that I would like to travel to the “far north” with my horse for 4 weeks to improve my riding skills and to get an insight into another dressage stable.<\/p>\n

At 6.30h we start with the stable work at the Vechtehof. After the work is done, there is a breakfast break and then it’s off to the horse. Each day I was allowed to ride 3-5 horses – from three-year-old youngsters to safe dressage and show jumping horses.<\/p>\n
From 13h to 15h was lunch break. We always ate the really delicious lunch together. In the afternoon I usually rode another horse and then helped with the stable work. When everything was done, the trainees and I rode our own horses in the lessons. I was able to profit a lot from Wolfgang and Sabine’s experience.<\/p>\n
The community part was not neglected either. We went on beautiful rides along the Vechte, went to the lake or all had a barbecue together with the Egbers family.<\/p>\n
I was able to experience a really exciting and educational time on the family-run Vechtehof and gained many insights!<\/p>\n
